James Cutler
Jim has more than 40 years experience in the energy and petrochemical industry. Until recently, he was Executive Vice President of Petral Worldwide (PWI), a Houston based consultancy. At PWI, Cutler specialized in midstream operations, natural gas monetization, alternative energy project evaluation and commodity petrochemical business development.
Mr. Cutler began his professional career with Allied Chemical as a Staff Industrial Engineer with the Barrett Division. He subsequently worked in the Fabricated Products Division and the Agricultural Division. While with the Agricultural Division, he held a number of financially oriented positions, the last one being Assistant Controller- Analytical.
In 1971, Cutler began his career with Getty Oil in their New York Office as Financial Planning Manager. Later he became Director- Chemical Business Development. In this capacity, Jim identified new product line opportunities and screened potential acquisition candidates. While with Getty, Cutler also held the positions of President – Getty Methanol, VP/Director – Hawkeye Chemical and VP/Director – Chembond Corp.
After Getty’s merger with Texaco, Jim moved to Houston as Manager – Materials and Energy for Texaco Chemical. Responsibilities included ethylene plant operational planning and the purchase of petrochemical feedstocks and energy. Subsequently, Cutler became Manager – International Business Development and Vice President – Texaco Middle East. In these capacities, Jim engaged in extensive international travel, and conducted business at the most senior levels of industry and government.
Mr. Cutler holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
